Antonina Shevchenko

Antonina (or Antonia) Shevchenko is an Kyrgyzstani Muay Thai fighter in the flyweight division. She is older than fellow UFC Fighter and Former UFC Flyweight Champion Valentina Shevchenko. Antonina Shevchenko was the first to start combat sports in the form of a Muay Thai boxer. Shevchenko made her debut at the IFMA World Championship Tournament of 2003. Shevchenko defeated Suzane McKell in the finals via a majority vote. Antonina was awarded a medal of silver in 2007, she also won a bronze medal in 2008, and a gold medal gold in the year 2011. Then she was named IFMA World Amateur Muay Thai Champion of 2016 by IFMA. Antonia started her professional career in with her debut in 2003. She took home the WKC K-1 Light Welterweight World Championships in 2012, the Lion Fight Lightweight World Championships 2016, and the WMC World Championships and Phoenix FC World Championships 2016. Antonina last fought against Isa Tidblad Kskikangas in the Phoenix Fighting Championship. The fight was won unanimously. Antonina Shychenko's professional MMA debut came in 2002, at the KFK Championship in Kyrgystan where she was matched against Anara Bayanova. She took the title with a TKO at the end of round 2. She went on to win her 2 subsequent fights and both of them at the WXF X-Impact World Championships of 2003. It gave her an MMA record of 3-0. Shevchenko dedicated herself to kickboxing as she took a prolonged time off of MMA. She came back in 2017, when she fought Anissa Hasdaoui. Shevchenko defeated Anissa in an unanimous decision. She went on to knock out Valerie Domergue during Phoenix FC 4. She joined Dana White Contender Series 2018 following her departure from the competition. Shevchenko faced Jaimelene Nievera in Dana White's Tuesday Night Contender Series 11, Antonina defeated Nievera by her striking skills that were superior in the final clinch by using knees on the body. Following this victory Antonina was able to sign a UFC contract. Antonina was offered a UFC contract after her win. Shevchenko defeated Roxanne Modafferi in a split-decision fight following her first fight by unanimity. Antonina recovered from her defeat and beat Lucie Pudilova on UFC on ESPN Covington vs. Lawler via second-round rear-naked choke and won the fight of the night reward in the fight. Shevchenko lost to Katlyn and Andrea Lee in three of her subsequent fights. She fought Ariane Lipski but she was also defeated by Ariane. Antonina has been defeated recently by Casey O'Neill via TKO at UFC Fight Night Santos -Walker.
