Avery Sunshine
Avery Sunshine is an enigmatic artist, performer and composer. He combines soul gospel jazz with R&B for a distinctive mix. Avery Sunshine's performances have been on Broadway and in festivals throughout Europe. She has also performed at her appearance at the Democratic National Convention. Sunshine was born Denise White. While she's based in Atlanta however, her roots lie in Chester Pennsylvania. There she was the first to begin pursuing a musical career performing and singing in a church. After graduation from Spellman College, Atlanta she embarked on her journey of music in Atlanta's R&B musical scene. She was named the main keyboardist of Tyler Perry's stage play Meet the Browns in 2005. In 2007 Grammy and Tony award-winning singer Jennifer Holliday sought her out to be the director of choral for the stage production of Dreamgirls during the National Black Arts Festival in Atlanta. Sunshine was the subject of national media notice during the four performances at the 2008 Democratic National Convention and was subsequently invited to sing at the inauguration of President Obama in 2009.
